Thad Rom, 29 years old, migrated from Cambodia and settled in Ta Phraya District, Sa Kaeo Province, when she was just 14 years old. Driven by the need to earn a living, she took on various types of manual work to support herself and her family.
When she became pregnant with her first child, whose father is also Cambodian, she had to bear the full cost of childbirth, which exceeded 60,000 baht. This caused her significant stress and became a heavy financial burden. Later, she learned about the M-FUND project through hospital staff and decided to enroll as a member on October 6, 2020.
As a member of M-FUND, she was able to access antenatal care and deliver her second child without having to pay anything. She also registered her child as a member to ensure that both of them could continue receiving healthcare services. Ted is deeply thankful for the support she received through M-FUND
Beyond being a beneficiary, Ted has become an advocate for the project. She has actively recommended M-FUND to other Cambodians in her community.
Even though the current economic situation and border-related challenges have made it difficult to earn a stable income, she continues to contribute monthly to maintain her membership, knowing how vital it is to have reliable health coverage.
In her own words, she said, “I will remain a M-FUND member of this project forever,” and she hopes that M-FUND will continue to support people in Sa Kaeo for many years to come.
