On Feb 21st, 2025, Dr. Nicolas Durier, General Director of Dreamlopments Foundation (DLP), and Mrs. Lawnt Ying (M-FUND Project Manager in Tak) attended an emergency meeting in Mae Sot Hospital chaired by Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.
This meeting gathered key government and non-government stakeholders working on services for migrants and refugees along the Thai-Myanmar border, to address the sudden interruption of aid from the US government, which, like in other parts of the world, is having a major disruptive impact on food, water supply and health services delivered in refugee camps (despite now a recent waiver to resume some of the areas of support).
This meeting has illustrated the determination of the Thai government and all partners, including DLP and M-FUND, to stand in solidarity to maintain and re-invent aid and sustainable development solutions for the most marginalized. M-FUND was asked to take a position on its readiness to extend M-FUND with partners in refugee camps and unequivocally stated its willingness to do so.
